Charapa was established in 2001 by Birgitte Feiring, with a commitment to provide expert advice on issues pertaining to human rights and development, including Indigenous Peoples’ rights and labour rights, governance, education, capacity building, climate change and natural resource management.
Charapa works for bi- and multilateral agencies, research institutions, NGOs and Indigenous Peoples’ organisations. Assignments include research, training and process facilitation as well as formulation, appraisal, review and evaluation of projects, programmes and strategies.
Charapa works with a global network of partners and assumes responsibility for tasks in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
